Oak wood was rabbited and cut on a table saw. Ash plywood was cut for the base. Copper sheets were cut using a jigsaw with a metal blade. Stickers were cut into leaf shapes and stuck to the copper. Salt was added to the copper and the sheets were placed in a container with ammonia. This created the patina effect. The stickers were removed. A stain was applied to the wood to bring out the grain. The pieces were all glued and fastened together. The lid and base were cut separate on a band saw. The brass fittings were all fastened then. Finally, blue felt was added to the base and lid interiors.
